What You’ll Need:
- * Wall decal (with transfer tape and backing paper)
- * Clean, dry cloth
- * Squeegee or credit card
- * Level (optional, for alignment)
- * Painter’s tape (optional, for positioning)
Surface Prep:
Ensure your wall is clean, dry, and smooth. Remove dust, grease, or dirt with a damp cloth and let it dry completely. Avoid textured, freshly painted (wait 2-3 weeks), or damp surfaces
Decal Prep: Lay the decal flat for 24 hours at room temperature (60–75°F / 15–24°C) to prevent curling.
Test Placement: Hold the decal up to the wall to visualize placement. Use a level or painter’s tape for alignment if needed.
Application Steps:
1. Clean the Surface: Wipe the wall with a dry cloth to remove any remaining dust.
2. Position the Decal: Place the decal (still attached to its backing paper and transfer tape) on the wall. Secure it lightly with painter’s tape at the top to create a “hinge” if desired.
3. Peel the Backing: Starting at one corner, slowly peel the backing paper away from the transfer tape, ensuring the decal sticks to the transfer tape. If the decal lifts with the backing, press it back onto the transfer tape and rub firmly.
4. Apply the Decal: Using a squeegee or credit card, press the decal onto the wall with smooth, overlapping strokes, working from the center outward to avoid bubbles. Apply firm, even pressure.
5. Remove the Transfer Tape: Gently peel the transfer tape away from the decal at a sharp angle (180°), starting at one corner. If the decal lifts, press it back down and rub gently. 6. Smooth Out Bubbles: If small bubbles appear, gently press them toward the edges with your fingers or squeegee. Most tiny bubbles will disappear within a few days.
Tips for Success: Work slowly and patiently to avoid wrinkles or misalignment. - For large decals, if applicable consider cutting the design into smaller sections for easier application. - If repositioning is needed, peel gently to avoid damaging the decal or wall. - Avoid applying in extreme heat, cold, or humidity, as this may affect adhesion.
Removal:
To remove, gently peel the decal from the wall at a sharp angle. If it resists, warm it slightly with a hairdryer on low heat to loosen the adhesive. Clean any residue with warm, soapy water.
Care:
Dust lightly with a dry or slightly damp cloth. - Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers. Note: Our decals are designed for indoor use on smooth, non-porous surfaces. Test a small area first if applying to specialty paints or delicate surfaces. We are not responsible for damage to walls or surfaces during application or removal.
